Re-brand, Website Design, Strategic Plan

The Client

LandMark Systems was the industry leader in the Southeast for forestry and natural resource management solutions. Onyx partnered with them to create a new brand, a fresh look, a website and a strategic plan. With qualified staff creating extraordinary efficiencies, this company gained a foothold in the market with their professional services and innovative products. Their expertise and commitment to forest stewardship had earned this organization a highly loyal customer base.

The Challenge

The company changed names twice since 1998 and forestry customers were hesitant to embrace cutting-edge technology in favor of outdated, but familiar, methods. Strategic planning and research revealed that customers identified with individual employees but not with the brand. The challenge was to carry the company’s strengths and core message of “foresters leading innovation” across multiple platforms to create a consistent and clean look. Additionally, the client needed a website that would leverage pre-existing loyalties to engage customers with F4 Tech.

The Brand

The company reputation was built on simplifying technology, educating clients, delivering quality products and keeping their word. Onyx helped them realize their identity as “Foresters for Technology,” and the F4 Tech brand was born. F4 Tech distills the message and core values into a unified presence.

The Content

Onyx completely revamped the F4 Tech website in conjunction with the re-branding effort. We created an inviting online presence that includes extensive staff profiles and in-depth product descriptions that enhance credibility. The support section features software downloads and manuals that enrich customer service.

The Design

Onyx created a fresh new look that conveys the values of F4 Tech. The graphic design team composed a dynamically stylized logo. The trunk is rooted in technology with a solid modern typeface. Four trees shoot upward, suggesting constant future growth. A warm color palette of green, birch and orange evokes woodlands and sunshine. These elements communicate F4 Tech’s energetic earthiness and forward-thinking stance. Onyx restructured the website to mirror the company’s extensive use of technology in the field and their willingness to back it up with client education. The F4 Tech online community now has the ability to ask questions, share ideas and give praise.

The Results

F4 Tech threw their brand-launch party in August 2011. The fresh new look and website were met with resounding applause and positive feedback from customers and business partners. Onyx expects great things in the future for F4 Tech.
